How much do you make a year?

I make a modest salary. It is between $40,000 and $80,000 a year. Not too bad, but there are plenty of people I know making more than me.
Today, 07/26/2011, the estimated population of the United States is a little over 311,000,000.
Our National Debt is over $14,356,000,000,000.00 ($14 Trillion Dollars, or $14 Million/Million).
That means that your share of that debt is $46,1
60.77.

Our national debt is larger than the entire economies of China, the United Kingdom and Australia combined.

In 2010 the United States borrowed almost $4,000,000,000 (that’s $4 Billion) in new debt every day.

$167,000,000.00 each hour.

$2,777,000.00 each minute.

$46, 296.00 each and every second of the day.

That’s right. The U. S. Government borrows $46,296.00 every second of every day.
That means that they spend $46,276.00 more then they have, every second. EVERY SECOND!

We cannot keep this up. It is unsustainable. Just the interest alone on the debt last year was over $414,000,000,000.00

Our debt is 95% of the entire GDP. That means we have a debt almost equal to everything produced in America in a year.

Our Government has no intention of stopping this insane debt. And no intention to pay it back.

Are you reading this?

I have several readers from around the world, but I don’t know who you are. If you like what you read or disagree with anything here please leave a comment. I would love to know who you are. Thanks for reading. Enjoy.

My favorite Poem

Hear lies John Adams of Southwell

John Adams lies here, of the parish of Southwell,
A carrier who carried his can to his mouth well;
He carried so much, and he carried so fast,
He could carry no more so he was carried at last;
For, the liquor he drank, being too much for one,
He could not carry off, so now he's carrion.

Cut Cap and Balance – Raise the Debt Limit?

No, I am not talking about the national crisis facing our Republic. I am talking about my own personal financial crisis. Like the Federal Government my crisis has been looming for years and like the Government I have been increasing my debt limit and not really tackling the problem. Additionally like the Government I don’t have a revenue problem, I have a spending problem. It is also an accountability problem. I don’t track my finances like I should.
Today that is going to radically change. I am getting my house in order. I am commanded by God to be a good steward of the blessings he has given me and I am promised I will be given what I need.
Today I am taking action. I will get my house in order and then I will be in a position to serve the Lord and love my family like I should.
Now as for the Government, this will never happen but it should. Get rid of the Education Department, HUD, NRC, EPA, and many other useless and unconstitutional agencies and departments in the Federal Government.
The tenth amendment states:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
We need a new amendment to the Constitution. It should be a no-brainer, but unfortunately it isn’t. Here is my proposal:
Congress shale pass no budget that exceeds revenues, except during time of declared war or extreme national emergency declared by 2/3 majority of both houses.

THE END IS NEAR...

Harold Camping said the end was near. May 21st came and went. No Rapture. Now he says we are under the Judgment of God and the end will actually be October 21, 2011.  Throughout this time I have heard many Christians say things like: “But the Bible says he will come like a thief in the night.” Or “No man knows the time not even the father.
This is known as the doctrine of imminence. It is true indeed Jesus says in Matthew 24:36-44 that no one knows the date or the time. And “The Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” Also 1Thessalonians 5:2-3 Paul writes and says “for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.”
So is it possible that you will be sitting here reading this blog sipping Starbucks  and the next instant … poof, the Rapture?

No, that could only happen if you ignore Jesus own teachings about the end times and most of Revelation. Jesus says in Matthew:
Matthew 24:3-31As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time. “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather. “Immediately after the distress of those days “‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.”
1Thessalonians 5:4-8But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.
Revelation 6:12-13I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.”
Do I know when the Son of Man will return? Do I know when the wrath of God will be poured out? Do I claim to know when the Judgment day will come?
No, I don’t know the day. I don’t know the hour and it will be a sudden cataclysmic event that will bring the Saints to Glory and destroy the wicked in a hell storm we can’t even begin to imagine. There will be no life as normal after the event. There will be none left to repent and turn to God. It will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. They will wish to die and not be able. They will scream in their agony and they will be destroyed.
But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness. There will be signs that must come first. Watch for them. The Anti-Christ must come to power. The Temple must be rebuilt. The “Abomination of Desolation” must occur. The Church must be persecuted, Christians put to death, families torn apart for the faith, brother against brother. Neighbors turning in their neighbors for being those hated Christians. Severe tribulation like none seen yet in all of world history. Then “the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
We are told to look for the signs. We are not in darkness. We are in the light. We will see the end coming and be ready. The unbeliever will not see it. He will see the signs but dismiss them. He will hear our cries and ignore them. He will tear us apart and claim we are the evil in the world. We are the reason for suffering and if he could just do away with those evil Christians all would be good.
Watch my brethren. Look for the signs. And pray that He will return soon. When the Anti-Christ comes do not fear rejoice. When Tribulation comes, Rejoice. When your martyrdom comes, Rejoice. For heaven is near.
The end is coming. It will be here when the world least expects it. But Christians should not be surprised. Don’t be led astray by false prophets. Don’t falter, don’t fear. Stand fast my brethren Jesus will return.

No apologies!

Recently Terry Jones, a pastor of a small independent church in Florida bought a book, he took that book and he caught it on fire.
He is unapologetic. He stands by his right to dispose of his property in any way he chooses.
I agree. Would I have done it? Maybe, but probably not. I am a Christian. I believe that the Bible is the word of God. I own several Bibles. I have multiple interpretations, Bibles in Russian, Greek, Chinese, I even have one in Scots. I have owned a Koran. I have no idea where it is now. I can’t remember what I did with it.
After the burning of the Koran by Mr. Jones, Muslims around the world have expressed their outrage. A mob of Muslims attacked U.N. Staffers and killed several of them. Roger Cohen writes in the New York Times:
So Terry Jones, the Florida pastor who organized a Koran burning on March 20, wanted “to stir the pot.” Mission accomplished. Perhaps he’d care to explain himself to the family of Joakim Dungel, a 33-year-old Swede slaughtered at the U.N. mission in Mazar-i-Sharif by Afghans whipped into frenzy through Jones’s folly.

On reflection, no, there’s nothing Jones can explain to Dungel’s family, or the other U.N. staffers murdered. Jones is not in the explanation business. He’s a zealot. How else to describe a Christian who interprets his faith not as grounded in love and compassion but as a mission to incite hatred toward Islam?

There’s no discussion with a bigot like this: You can’t be argued out of something you haven’t been argued into in the first place.
From the New York Times Opinion Pages By ROGER COHEN
Published: April 4, 2011
He is WRONG on so many levels but most importantly, the only people reasonable for the killing of the U.N. staffers are the people that killed them. Mr. Jones is in no way responsible of killing anyone. Mr. Jones can burn the Koran, burn the Bible, burn a cook book or even burn down his own house. I don’t care.
If I go to Barnes & Noble’s today and buy a Koran, I am buying a book.  It is just a book. Paper and ink and glue made by man, temporary and fleeting. The Bible contains the word of God. The words are God’s words. The paper is not the word of God. The ink is not the Word of God. The book itself is not the word of God.  The Word is the word of God.
I am tired of being told I can’t say something that might offend someone. That applies to everyone except white Christian males; it is open season on them. Read the constitution people. Free speech, Freedom OF, (not from), religion, Freedom to assemble peaceably, and many more. God Bless America.

Parsing the Word...

One thing I can’t tolerate is parsing the Word of God. When I am reading an article or a Bible Study, and the author quotes a verse or to like this: “We…worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus…(Phil 3:3)”
Some of the time, the author may be just trying to emphasize his point or to leave out words that he feels are repetitive or irrelevant.
I despise this. Every word is relevant and the context makes the verse. Compare the verses below:

“We…worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus…(Phil 3:3)”

“For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh, (Phil 3:3) NJKV

What is the author trying to say? Do the two quotes say the same thing? Was the intent to emphasize his point or something more sinister.

If I wanted to twist the Word of God it is easy to do, for example if I wanted to make the point that people should not perform street evagalizm I could quoute Matthew 6:5 as this:

“…you shall not…pray standing…on the corners of the streets…” Matt 6:5

Is that what it says? Are we fobiding from praying on the streets? Of course not. I could quote from Genesis 19 and try to make the point that incest is blessed by God. I could twist nay scripture to try to make it say what I wanted if I took it out of context.

Please do not take any scripture quotes from a book written by man. Always o to the Word and look at the verse in context.
